Dinner and Auction Fundraiser a Success

NWV Habitat's annual Framing the Future Dinner and Auction is our biggest fundraiser. This year's event on May 5, 2018, was our most successful auction to date. We raised more money than we ever have before, thanks to loyal donors (individuals and local and regional businesses) and a sold-out crowd at the Mt. Angel Festhalle.

Our most recent partner family, single mother Kim Betker, and her 11-year-old son, Shawn, shared their experience with Habitat. They were able to move from a rented room which they shared, to their own home.  Kim's tearful embrace with Executive Director Wendy Patton said it all.

Retiring Construction Manager Tom Mason was honored for his service with a standing ovation and some parting gifts.

Live auction items ranged from desserts to sporting event tickets to luxury trips to Africa and Italy.

Another highlight from the evening: One of our longtime donors offered to match funds raised up to $25,000 during the paddle raise.

Thank you to everyone who attended and made this fundraiser a success. We're looking forward to breaking ground on our next Habitat home in Mt. Angel this summer.

Save the date for our next dinner and auction: Saturday, Oct. 19, 2019. More details will be shared on our event page as the date gets closer.
